What is the St. Louis Bi State Intergroup?

First, a little bit about our parent organization, Overeaters Anonymous. OA is a world-wide organization, divided into 10 regions. Each of these regions is made up of groups and Intergroups within each region. Within each Intergroup, is a “sub group” of local meetings. The purpose of our Intergroup is to promote unity within the St. Louis Bi-State OA fellowship, to provide a forum or “sounding board” for the exchange of ideas, to be aware of, and serve, the needs of member groups, and most importantly, to carry the message of OA to the compulsive overeater who still suffers.

There are over 45 meetings held in our bi-state (Missouri/Illinois) region. Each one of these meetings has the right to appoint a representative to the Intergroup. That “Intergroup Rep” attends the monthly meeting of the St. Louis Bi-State Intergroup and provides input on ideas and projects that will benefit OA as a whole, votes on business pertaining to OA, serves on various committees, and carries back important news or concerns to their home group.

St Louis Bi-State Intergroup also is in regular communication and interacts with other Intergroups, not only within our Region IV, but throughout the US and even the world!

The St Louis Bi-State Intergroup meets at 1:30 PM on the second Sunday of the month.  The meetings are held at Missouri Baptist Hospital. All members of OA are invited to attend Intergroup meetings. See the 2015 Meeting Calendar for more information.
